Which Davanti DX tyre is right for you?

26th April 2024

The original Davanti tyre range – Davanti DX – has been developed and manufactured using advanced technologies, designed to cater for passenger cars, ultra-high-performance vehicles, and SUVs.

After rigorous testing at facilities including UTAC in Finland and IDIADA in Spain, all tyres in the DX range are ready for whatever journey you may be embarking on. After months of testing and development, each DX pattern features core design elements that work together to provide safe, quiet, efficient tyres, leaving drivers feeling confident and in control. Some of these innovative features seen across the whole range include:

  • An enhanced silica compound and innovative tread patterns to ensure responsiveness and fuel efficiency.
  • An extended rigid crown ply which works alongside the flexible sidewalls to provide a consistent wear profile and maximise the contact area between tyre and road.
  • Interconnected shoulder blocks that allow steering to remain light and responsive on the road, while maintaining stability and grip on uneven ground.

Choosing the right DX tyre for you…

Taking into account your vehicle type, within the DX range there will be a perfect tyre for your vehicle and driving needs. Let’s take a look at the different tyres which fall within the DX range and explain which tyre might be for you

DX240

For smaller passenger cars

DX390

For compact vehicles and smaller passenger cars

Provides exceptional wet and dry grip with high levels of straight line and cornering traction for smaller passenger cars, key design features include:

  • Three longitudinal grooves channel water away from the contact area and provide drainage channels to ensure safe wet weather driving.
  • Inner shoulder area contains open sides to disperse water in wet conditions.
  • Outer shoulder consists of a horizontal groove to actively contain sounds and provide a progress drive.
Designed to offer a responsive drive in all conditions for compact and smaller passenger cars, this DX390 features:

  • Three main blocks feature a 3D design that dynamically changes performance as the tread depth decreases.
  • Varying tread block pitch and compartmentalising grooves work together to minimise and contain noise.
  • Flared block sections combine with a continual longitudinal band to provide excellent traction.
  • Integrated rim protection to prevent wheel damage.
  • Four wide circumferential grooves work to channel water away from the contact patch for optimal traction, reducing the risk of aquaplaning while deep outer sipes maximise water dissipation and increase traction in wet conditions.

DX640

For ultra-high-performance cars and SUVs

DX740

For SUVs

Provides exceptional wet and dry grip with high levels of straight line and cornering traction for smaller passenger cars, key design features include:

  • Three longitudinal grooves channel water away from the contact area and provide drainage channels to ensure safe wet weather driving.
  • Inner shoulder area contains open sides to disperse water in wet conditions.
  • Outer shoulder consists of a horizontal groove to actively contain sounds and provide a progress drive.
For optimal balance of wet and dry grip for SUV applications, design features include:

  • Four longitudinal deep grooves run the circumference of the tyre to provide drainage from the road contact areas of the tread pattern.
  • The inner block section works in conjunction with the outer-inside block section to dissipate water out of the central grooves and away from the contact zone.
  • The outer block section contains U-shaped grooves which work to contain noise dissipation and provide grip in muddy conditions.

With different features to ensure that every vehicle, from passenger cars and ultra-high-performance vehicles to SUVs can rely on the DX tyre to offer great performance and reliability, there really is a choice for every need at Davanti.
