Protoura Race makes its debut in SW Motorsports ClubSport Trophy

Davanti and Protoura Race are proud to support David Cox in the SW Motorsports ClubSport Trophy.
The third round of the series took place at Donington Park, where David sported the Protoura Race tyres on his Davanti-branded Golf – a combined build of the Mark 5 and Mark 6. The striking livery also featured the logo of Davanti customer Walkers Tyres Darlington, David’s local garage and supporter of his racing.
The race weekend lived up to its unpredictable nature, with wet weather conditions causing complications.
After rain overnight prior to qualifying, it was a damp start for David, but he managed to achieve 5th in class and 16th overall, with his fastest lap time in 3 years thanks to the Protoura Race tyres.
Despite the intermittent rain showers and a slippery track, the tyres continued to impress in the unfavourable conditions.
In the live race, Cox got off to a good start, gaining 3 places going into the first corner. He held his own despite numerous interruptions from the safety car, and a 30 second penalty for leaving the pit lane 0.013 of a second too soon. He finished 4th in class and 13th overall.
Despite the difficult conditions, the Protoura Race tyres proved once again to be reliable and effective on track. “‘The tyres performed amazingly – they didn’t go off, they stayed consistent all the way through”, said David.
He continued: “In the dry, the grip came straight away.”
