Cinch proves why driving on incorrectly inflated tyres is dangerous
15th December 2022This time of year when the weather turns increasingly cold and wet, road conditions can become treacherous, so it’s especially important to make sure your tyres are well maintained for optimum performance and grip in all conditions.
This doesn’t just mean checking your tyres for obvious damage, but checking your pressures too. Driving on incorrectly inflated tyres can affect your braking and handling capabilities more than you might realise. To prove just how much, the team at Cinch put this theory to the test.
We supplied Cinch with two sets of DX640 tyres to be fitted to two identical Mazda MX-5’s – one with the tyres inflated correctly to the manufacturer’s recommendations, and the other with incorrectly inflated tyres. Check out the video below to see how the tyres performed when underinflated, overinflated, and inflated to the correct pressures.
Also, watch until the end to find out why part worn tyres can also be dangerous to drive on.
If you need any support checking your tyre pressures, contact your nearest Davanti dealer which you can find here.
