World Cup cricket legend Danni Wyatt appointed president of Davanti Tyres sponsored NSSC Cricket League

After a year of uncertainty, the Davanti Tyres’ sponsored North Staffs & South Cheshire League has unveiled England legend Danni Wyatt as its new president.
The Stoke-born 2017 World Cup winner returned home to accept the position to help promote diversity within the game, which is thriving across the region.
Having started her career in the North Staffs and South Cheshire League, Danni said returning to the league was an opportunity she couldn’t pass up.
“The North Staffs and South Cheshire League has always created opportunities for players to achieve their full potential,” she said. “I’m a product of that system myself so I appreciate how important it is and how much work it takes to maintain that structure.
“Last year was difficult for everyone but thanks to the work the league has done to help clubs become sustainable, with help from sponsors like Davanti, there is still a very healthy league structure in place.
“When I was approached about the position of president I was honoured. It gives me a chance to work with those who shape the game across the NSSCL to continue to make cricket accessible to all.”
“Danni brings a reputation for excellence that will be a huge asset to the league,” said chairman Gavin Carr.
“She’s enjoyed huge international success, with England in all forms of the game and in T20 with the Australian Women’s Big Bash League and the Indian Women’s T20 Challenge.
“League officials past and present have worked hard to ensure that the NSSCL has remained strong through the pandemic, with the support of sponsors like Davanti Tyres proving crucial.
“Now as we slowly begin to emerge from the other side of Covid, bringing Danni back to the league is a fantastic launch pad for the future.”
Sponsors Davanti Tyres said they were proud to continue their association for this season and welcomed Danni to her new post.
