Wigan Warriors Women’s team dominate in first round of the Challenge Cup

The Wigan Warriors Women’s team produced an outstanding display from start to finish against Barrow Raiders in the opening Group Stage of this year’s Challenge Cup.
Scoring twice within the first six minutes, it was the start of many great moments to come from the Warriors.
Jenna Foubister accumulated a total of 34-points for the team with a hat-trick of tries and 11 successful conversions, helping the team to secure an 84-0 win at Robin Park over the visiting team.
The Warriors scored a total of 15 tries, with several of their six debut starts putting in powerful plays.
The fixture was the first time tickets for the Women’s game were sold online in advance of the game, and this received an incredible response, with 508 supporters attending.
The outdoor arena was filled with fans pre-match, with the Community Foundation team delivering activities for supporters of all ages and abilities including Wheelchair Rugby League, passing drills, an inflatable dart board, and archery.
Ahead of the season, the Women’s team launched their away kit, which was designed in collaboration with the players. This striking kit – on which Davanti features as back of shirt sponsor – has proved to be a favourite amongst supporters, with many wearing the Women’s Away shirts at the fixture.
