Wigan Warriors New Season Preview

Last year, our long-standing partner, Wigan Warriors, made history by becoming back-to-back Betfred Super League Grand Final Champions, and the first team ever to win every major trophy within a single calendar year, clinching the World Club Challenge, Challenge Cup and League Leaders’ Shield during an action-packed season – and we’re counting down the weeks until the new season kicks off.

The reigning Betfred Super League Champions will host local rivals Leigh Leopards at The Brick Community Stadium in Round 1 on Thursday 13th February (8 pm K.O.) We can’t wait to see the team back in action for what will be a jam-packed season ahead. 

Another date we’ve got in our diary is March 1st 2025. Why? Well, Wigan Warriors has a unique opportunity to make history against Warrington Wolves in Las Vegas – yes, you read that right. This is a special opportunity to showcase the British game, as part of this link-up with the elite Australian National Rugby League (NRL).

English rugby league fans impressed the NRL powerbrokers with their level of attendance, and thanks to the hard work of Wigan’s chief executive, Kris Radlinski, and Warrington’s counterpart, Karl Fitzpatrick, the Super League’s attendance was cemented. The games hold promise not only as a way to introduce the game to a new American audience but also to showcase the level of talent to an often sceptical Australian market by playing on the international stage.

Across 2025 on both UK and international soil, the partnership with rugby league icons will see Davanti Tyres’ logo on the upper back of the men’s and women’s first-team squads’ playing shirts, whilst a series of co-branded social media content will also be created across the season to showcase the partnership and to engage with supporters.
