Understanding Davanti’s Tyre Technology

17th April 2025

In 2024, we introduced two new exciting tyre technologies to our Protoura Sport tyre range: DavantiSeal and Davanti NoiseGuard. These innovative tyre technologies join our existing DSP Runflat range, enhancing our popular tyre offerings and providing customers with even more advanced options.

These technologies offer customers a range of new benefits to enhance our most popular ranges, so to help you decide, we’ve written a handy guide to our technology tyres below:

Davanti NoiseGuard

A significant culprit for noise in the cabin of your car could be your tyres. As you drive, the road vibrations will make their way through the tyre, amplifying them through the car’s body right to your ears.

Davanti NoiseGuard addresses this problem by actively absorbing these vibrations. Focusing on the key frequency ranges that can pass from the road into your vehicle’s cabin. Davanti’s NoiseGuard technology uses a specially designed polyurethane foam to dampen noise resonance, resulting in a more comfortable environment for the driver and passengers, without compromising the performance of your tyres.

We extensively tested the technology to ensure consistent performance, with tests carried out using a binaural headset worn on the driver’s head showing a reduction of sound levels by a 1dB average across both ears when driving at 80km/h (50mph), showing a most noticeable difference when driving on a motorway.

NoiseGuard also underwent cold-weather testing to ensure the adhesive’s ability to retain the foam even after repeated exposure to freezing temperatures, guaranteeing year-round performance.

DavantiSeal

The second of our technologies, DavantiSeal, is designed to protect drivers from unforeseen roadside callouts by protecting the tyre from air pressure loss caused by a puncture. The self-sealing technology surrounds the object perforating the tyre and works to fill the hole to maintain tyre pressure instantly, preventing any further air loss and keeping you on the move.

Once the object is removed, either by being ejected from the tyre or by a professional tyre fitter, this action will pull the sealant into the new cavity, covering the edges for complete airtight protection.

DavantiSeal covers 85% of possible accidental causes of air pressure loss, allowing you to continue your journey without the worry of needing to change your tyres after a puncture.

Similarly to NoiseGuard, we have had extensive testing to ensure the performance of the tyre with cold weather testing, which shows the self-sealing properties remain effective in winter temperatures and have a proven ability to seal any puncture penetrating up to 6mm.

DSP Runflat Technology

Launched in 2023, the Davanti DSP Runflat was our first tyre technology, designed for drivers to experience the benefits of our most popular tyres, with the added advantages of runflat technology.

Unlike traditional tyres, runflat tyres do not deflate once punctured, supporting themselves with a rigid sidewall integrated into the tyre that continues to support the full weight of your vehicle when air pressure is lost. This eliminates the reliance on roadside repair and offers a few space-saving benefits in the absence of spare tyres or puncture repair kits.

DSP Runflat has been integrated into our most popular brands, without compromising on the existing performance offered by Protoura Sport, DX390 and DX640.

It’s important to note that, unlike our other technologies, DSP Runflat is not compatible with all vehicles, so if you are uncertain, consult your owner’s manual or contact your local Davanti dealer.

To learn more about runflat tyres, we’ve also got a handy guide for a more thorough breakdown of the technology.
