Tame on the road, wild on the track – Davanti’s high-performance DX640

19th June 2019

Ultra-high performance tyres are becoming the standard for road cars and demand for sizes and an ever-greater performance window continue to grow.

It’s why, when Davanti was developing its range, it singled out UHP as a key part of its offer and produced the DX640.

This UHP tyre pattern is one of Davanti’s original launch range and it has grown into the brand’s most popular offering. Whether you need to tether your performance car to the road to maintain control and composure, or you are visiting a track and want to see what your machine can really do – the DX640 can handle it.

The proof is in its pedigree. Despite only going on sale four years ago, the DX640 has already become the tyre of choice for the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve racetrack in Portugal.

Every day the professional drivers of the AIA Racing School at the track race around at more than 240km/h in high performance Porsche Cayman S, Cayman 718 S, 911 GT3, Mercedes AMGs and Honda Type-Rs – all on Davanti’s DX640 tyres.

Davanti General Manager Peter Cross said: “The DX640 is very impressive. There is a reason we have so many fitments available.

“It is not a track tyre, but it can perform in that arena. Where it excels however is on the road. Helping drivers maintain control, grip and offering responsive raking and passenger comfort.

“Its track ability at the extremes of performance is what gives drivers confidence in everyday situations. If you can pull up quickly at over 150mph heading into a gravel trap then coming to a sudden, safe stop in traffic is a given”
