Silvia Franchini forced to retire from Aci Sport Italian Rally Cup final

It was an unfortunate end to the racing season for Silvia Franchini and partner Nicoletta Deidda, as the pair were forced to retire from the Rally del Lazio in the fourth round.

The final – which took place in Cassino for the second year – saw them run into some issues in the third stage. A problem with the cooling system meant the car’s performance was compromised, and the team had to pull out of the race.

Commenting on the race, Silvia said:

“It’s a beautiful race with really well-structured special stages and excellent organisation. It’s disappointing to not have finished the race by battling our opponents, but I thank everyone who supported us.

“Now it’s time to take a short break before preparing for the next competitive season.”
