Tyre Teacher | How to check your tyre pressure

28th March 2023

It’s recommended that you check your tyre pressures at least once a month to ensure the safety and longevity of your tyres.  We often neglect the important task of checking our tyre pressure, unaware of the benefits it brings in maintaining the health of our tyres.

Here are a few reasons why you should be checking your tyres regularly:

  • Safety: Incorrectly inflated tyres can put you at risk on the road, leading to poor handling, and reduced traction and it can have an impact on your stopping distances, increasing the risk of accidents.
  • Fuel efficiency: Underinflated tyres mean your tyres have to work harder to move your car forward, impacting your car’s performance and increasing your fuel costs.
  • Tyre wear and damage: The additional rolling resistance and warping of under-inflated tyres can cause wear and tear on your tread over time, shortening the life of your tyres.

To learn more about how to check your tyres, Tyre Teacher Fuzz Townsend has a handy video on how to find out the correct pressures for your tyres, as well as how to put more air in if needed.

If you are looking for more information about the health of your tyres you can read our latest blog where we show you how to identify potential tyre wear problems. Or, check out Fuzz’s video here

As always if you are ever in doubt, you can reach out to your local Landsail dealer.
