Dealer of the Month: Aldridge Tyre Save

The tyre business comes naturally to Jess Nash. Growing up watching her dad Trevor, she gained an in-depth knowledge of tyre performance. Crucially she also learned to understand what different drivers needed and how to help them select the right tyres.

When a good friend offered the pair the opportunity to purchase Aldridge Tyre Save on Merchants Way in Walsall back in 2013, there was no hesitation.

Today, Jess runs the business, fitting and balancing tyres – including Landsail – running the business admin, making sure everything is exactly right.

“I love it,” she said. “The interaction with customers, working out which tyres will suit their driving style, I learned that from my dad.

“We took over Aldridge Tyre Save eight years ago and it’s a real family business. Over the last 12 months I’ve been working full-time here, taking the lead on fitting and balancing. Our wholesalers BMTR have helped a lot over that time and we’ve also had great branding support from Landsail Tyres.

“Sadly the friend we purchased the business from passed away and it’s always been important for us to try to run the business in the way we believe he would have wanted. That means putting the customer first and seeking out great value brands that make great performance accessible to every customer.

“We’ve tried to introduce a number of brands over the years but we’ve sold Landsail since day one and it has seen off some of the well-known names.

“It’s got such a wide range of sizes, priced just right and the performance across the range is excellent. Customers know what they are getting with Landsail and they like it.”

As well as regular customers, Aldridge also sees plenty of new faces – and the fact that Jess carries out all the work herself doesn’t go unnoticed.

“Women in particular think it’s fantastic that I am there fitting their tyres and advising them on their vehicles,” said Jess.

“There are lots of women working in the automotive sector now but a lot of people still expect to see men doing the work.

“But most of our customers don’t worry about things like that. They come here for the best tyre advice and fitting and that’s what they get!”
