Davanti partner Silvia Franchini prepares for first race of the season

Davanti partner and Italian rally driver Silvia Franchini is preparing for her first race of the season in the Aci Sport Coppa Italia 2023 Championship.
She will take to the track for the Terra di Argil Rally in her Davanti-branded MINI Cooper S complete with Protoura Sport tyres.
The first race of the season will consist of 9 different stages, covering over 220 km of track.
We caught up with Silvia to find out how preparations are going and how she feels about the weekend ahead…
“The championship will officially start soon and while on the one hand I’m anxious, on the other I can’t wait to get started.
“We have made important changes to the car – including the safety tank which has been made mandatory by the regulations – so we aren’t certain yet how it will perform.
“It will also be the first time I’ll race with Nicoltta. I’m happy to have found a good team this year, both in terms of organisation, friendship and sponsorship. Being supported by great sponsors is a real honour – it brings a lot of responsibility, but as always I will do my best to achieve my goals!”
Preparations are well underway for Silvia both physically and mentally. She continued:
“In these final few days the team and I are very busy finishing setting up the car, organising trips, documents, transporting the car, reviewing timetables and everything else necessary to be fully prepared. Physically, I am reducing training and mentally I try to give myself more rest but it never works out, I end up putting my stress on the team (Alessandro and Mirko)! I’m still discovering more effective rituals for rest, any advice is welcome!”
We also asked Silvia if she has any superstitions or rituals she carries out before a race. She said:
“My good luck charm is the black cat, so much so it is incorporated into the car livery in full view. Every now and then I also touch iron, which is a traditional custom.”

La partner di Davanti e pilota di rally italiana Silvia Franchini si sta preparando per la sua prima gara della stagione nel Campionato Aci Sport Coppa Italia 2023.
Scenderà in pista per il Rally Terra di Argil con la sua MINI Cooper S brandizzata Davanti ed equipaggiata con gli pneumatici Protoura Sport.
La prima gara della stagione sarà composta da 9 diverse tappe, per oltre 220 km di pista.
Abbiamo incontrato Silvia per scoprire come stanno andando i preparativi e come si sente per il fine settimana che ci aspetta…
“Tra poco inizierà ufficialmente il campionato e se da un lato sono in ansia, dall’altro non vedo l’ora di iniziare.
“Abbiamo apportato modifiche importanti alla vettura, compreso il serbatoio di sicurezza che è stato reso obbligatorio dal regolamento, quindi non siamo ancora sicuri di come si comporterà.
“Sarà anche la prima volta che correrò con Nicoletta. Sono contenta di aver trovato una buona squadra quest’anno, sia in termini di organizzazione, amicizia e sponsorizzazione. Essere supportato da grandi sponsor è un vero onore, comporta molte responsabilità, ma come sempre, farò del mio meglio per raggiungere i miei obiettivi!”
Fervono i preparativi per Silvia sia fisicamente che mentalmente. Ha continuato:
“In questi ultimi giorni io e il team siamo molto impegnati a finire di allestire la macchina, organizzare viaggi, documenti, trasportare la macchina, rivedere orari e tutto il necessario per essere preparati al meglio. Fisicamente sto riducendo gli allenamenti e mentalmente cerco di riposarmi di più ma non funziona mai, finisco sempre per stressare la squadra (Alessandro e Mirko)! Sto ancora scoprendo rituali più efficaci per il riposo, ogni consiglio è ben accetto!”
Abbiamo anche chiesto a Silvia se ha qualche superstizione o rituale che compie prima di una gara. Lei ha detto:
“Il mio portafortuna è il gatto nero, tanto da essere presente nella livrea della vettura in bella vista. Ogni tanto tocco anche il ferro, che è un’usanza tradizionale.”
