For three generations and more than 50 years, Pemberton Tyres has been keeping the drivers of Wigan and beyond moving.

Founded by Alan’s grandfather Arthur, dad Alan Snr and uncle Keith, Pemberton Tyres is all about service. From city cars to supercars, if you need maintenance, repair or parts replacement, Pemberton Tyres can help.
“Customers trust us because we give them the right advice,” said Alan. “We give them the right solution for their problem, or help them to find a specialist if that’s what they need.”
Pemberton Tyres was one of the first authorised Davanti Tyres dealers. Having scrutinised its product range from day one, Alan has become a champion of Davanti as an outstanding British tyre brand.
“Davanti tyres have always been fantastic quality and great value,” said Alan. “But recent developments with Protoura Sport and Terratoura A/T have taken it to the next level.
“We recommend them widely because we have not only seen how much testing and research has gone into them, we have seen how they perform in the real world over the years. We fit them for our customers because they are exceptionally good tyres.”
From tyres, exhausts, brakes to oil and filter changes and wheel refurbishments to bigger engineering jobs like lifting or lowering ride height, Pemberton Tyres offer a wide range of automotive services.
During lockdown, Pemberton’s operation did slow down, with the focus turning to keyworkers. but as things opened up they were quickly inundated, with 1,000 cars per month booking in at the peak.
They have even fitted tyres for Davanti’s official partners and rugby league Super League legends Wigan Warriors.
“It’s fantastic to work with a British brand that is pushing to compete at the top end of the market,” he said. “Protoura Sport is a really high-end, premium product. They’ve only been available for a few months but we’ve already had a customer come in to fit them on his Bentley.
“Protoura Sport has really opened up the top end of the car market for Davanti and Terratoura A/T is an incredible off-road tyre. If you drive off-road you need to try it.”
Alan knows a thing or two about going off-road. Away from the business he’s a successful motocross rider.
He still competes in international veteran competitions and his passion for racing and winning has not dimmed.
“I love to win,” he said. “Unfortunately since things started up again post-Covid I’ve been recovering from a spinal problem, but I expect to be signed off to compete just in time for the Vets Motocross de Nations international race meeting at Farleigh Castle in September.”
