Alltoura Braking Test

31st July 2024

Research and development is a continuous process here at Davanti Tyres, as we pride ourselves on producing leading mid-range tyres for cars, SUVs and commercial vehicles.

Over the last month, Ray Collier, Chief Engineer at TREAD, worked alongside the R&D team at Davanti to put the all-season passenger tyre, Alltoura 4-Seasons, through some extra wet braking tests to ensure it continues to deliver reliable performance, no matter the weather.

This is just one of the tests that make up Davanti’s rigorous independent testing process to ensure our tyres comply with industry standards and can perform under adverse conditions in the real world, ensuring drivers can remain safe on the roads.

Over at Davanti’s European Development Centre, based at the IDIADA proving ground in Spain, Alltoura faced a series of wet braking tests against a comparable competitor tyre, to demonstrate Alltoura’s braking performance credentials.

During the tests, Ray tested the two sets of tyres’ braking performance in wet road conditions to check the stopping distance and stopping time – with striking results.

Pitched against a competitor tyre, the series of tests help demonstrate that despite the tyres having the same label grades, Alltoura’s performance credentials outperformed the competitor tyre significantly.
