Zelos among leaders as Mini eSeries approaches halfway mark
1st February 2021Davanti Tyres-backed racing driver Dan Zelos sits third among his real-world rivals in the Mini Challenge eSeries as he continues to improve against the field in the sim racing championship.
Oulton Park was the virtual venue last weekend as Zelos, driving under the Davanti eSports banner, came out strong. The Mini Challenge runs two driver championships, one for the dedicated sim racers and one for real-world drivers, with all drivers racing together.
A strong fifth and sixth overall on the Cheshire circuit’s virtual twin track mean Dereham ace and BRDC Rising Star Zelos sits in third place in the real driver championship with the season about to pass the halfway mark at his home track – Snetterton.
“I’m improving in every round as I get to grips with a different style of racing and to be sitting in third heading into the mid-point is a great position,” said Zelos.
“All I need to do is keep driving my race and taking my opportunities.”
Zelos also thanked Davanti for their support.
“Since I partnered with Davanti Tyres last year they have backed me all the way,” he said. “Through a very strange Mini Challenge season in 2020 and now, in a totally new sport through the eSeries, Davanti has been there and I would like to thank them for continuing to support me through this extraordinary time.”
Live coverage of the Mini Challenge eSeries qualifying and racing from Snetterton starts at 9.45am on Saturday, February 6 from 9.45am with full commentary on the Mini Challenge UK Facebook and Youtube channels. Post-race highlights will be available on Amazon Prime.
