North East Auto Services right there with Macmillan Cancer Support

30th September 2019

Drivers across the North East can get a free tyre check or free puncture repair throughout October’s Tyre Safety Month and help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Davanti dealer North East Auto Services has named Macmillan as its official charity for 2019/20 and will be running a number of offers for customers over the next 12 months to raise as much money as possible.

The first ties into Tyre Safety Month – which starts tomorrow – so drivers can get a free tyre check or puncture repair in return for a donation.

“It’s simple,” said NEAS owner John Alexander. “Under this first offer we will give customers free tyre checks and free puncture repairs for the month of October.

“All they have to do is make a donation to Macmillan via our justgiving page – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/north-east-auto-services – or in our receptions, where we will have collection tins.”

NEAS staff chose Macmillan as a number of people who work for John have relied on the charity for support having had cancer themselves or supported a loved one with a diagnosis.

“This is the first time we have nominated a charity for the year,” said John. “When we said we were going to do this almost everyone came to us and said ‘it has to be Macmillan.

“We are a close knit team at NEAS and we have all seen how cancer affects our friends and family. I’m proud that the staff have chosen this charity and I hope that everyone will be as generous as they can so we can help more people to get the support they need from this incredible charity.

“Every year Tyre Safety Month is an important time for us as it is the one time of the year when most drivers switch on to tyre safety and tyre maintenance,” said John.

“We are always trying to spread that safety message as far and wide as possible and combining it with our Charity of the Year made perfect sense.

Donations can be made in return for every tyre check or puncture repairs at the following NEAS sites – Chester-le-Street, Fairfield (Stockton), Middlesbrough and Peterlee. There will also be collection tins at NEAS’ petrol station site at Great Ayton.
