Najib Chakhtoura joins Davanti to extend brand presence in Middle East and Africa

13th February 2020

Davanti Tyres’ rapid global growth remains strong and the brand has now hired Najib Chakhtoura to establish a permanent presence in the Middle East and Africa.

Vastly experienced in the global tyre industry, the senior executive will become Sales Director for the region, building strong relationships with new and existing distributors to increase both Davanti’s global reach and sales volume.

Having previously held senior roles developing premium brands across the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait and North and East Africa, Najib will establish a new regional office for Davanti to introduce the brand into new territories across North, East and West Africa, the Gulf States and the wider Middle East.

“I am very proud to be joining Davanti at this important time,” said Najib. “Having spent time with the senior team at Davanti’s UK head office I am excited about how this brand is building across the world and Africa and the Middle East are key markets to develop.

“Having worked in this region for a number of premium brands for more than 34 years I believe Davanti can establish itself as a strong presence here and it is my responsibility to maximise the potential for growth here.

“I know the brand well, everyone does. What Davanti has done since it launched its first product has been phenomenal. I have a lot of experience in the tyre industry and at this stage, to become involved in something this dynamic and exciting, is an opportunity I could not turn down.”

Davanti Tyres’ General Manager Peter Cross said the brand bringing Najib on board underlined its ambition to continue to explore new markets and establish a wider presence for its tyre range.

“The Middle East was one of the earliest international territories we began to operate in,” he said. “It helped us to springboard the brand out of Europe and build a global base of more than 60 countries for Davanti.

“As we enter a new phase of growth and investment, it is the right time to establish a permanent office for the Middle East and our expansion into Africa.

“Najib was someone we wanted for this role for some time. He is highly respected across the region and his track record and knowledge are second to none. When the opportunity arose to bring him in to launch our Middle East and Africa office we did not hesitate.

“Davanti continues to grow in new markets and Najib will play a key role in that.”
