Make it Happen – Status Code14’s Great Norse Run
30th September 2024Here at Davanti, we’re always looking for ways in which we can support charitable initiatives and when we heard about Status Code14’s next fundraising adventure – the Great Norse Run – we couldn’t wait to get involved!
The team from Status Code 14 is a small group of friends who have similar goals, ethics and a love of adventure. Together they complete a number of significant physical challenges to raise funds and awareness for Rock 2 Recovery, a charity close to their hearts, as it supports emergency responders and the military community with their mental health.
Over the summer, Status Code14’s team participated in the ‘Great Norse Run’ which saw Simon Lemon, Steve Dredge, Scott Dawson, plus more volunteers run across Iceland to complete the equivalent of almost 10 marathons over 10 consecutive days.
Taking place in such a rocky and remote climate, this challenge was no mean feat. Home to some of the largest glaciers in Europe and some of the world’s most active volcanoes, the team had to navigate their way across tricky terrains, whilst also wild camping each night.
But this didn’t put them off, with the team covering over 200 miles and raising over £20,000 to date for Rock 2 Recovery along the way. Here at Davanti Tyres, we’re proud to have donated funds, as well as providing a set of tyres for one of their fundraising events.
Sean Maddocks, Davanti Tyres Sales Director for UK & Ireland, commented:
“It is safe to say this challenge took not only physical, but extreme mental strength. Statuscode14’s resilience is extremely admirable and we are so thrilled that we were able to once again support Scott, Steve and Simon during this impressive challenge.”
