Davanti enters new phase of tyre development with Protoura

25th September 2019

Automotive demands are changing, and Davanti Tyres’ agile approach to product development is helping them stay one step ahead.

Having engineered a new range of tyres from scratch and created a space for their brand in the crowded tyre marketplace, Davanti is now moving into the next phase of its range evolution.

The first of its new-generation tyres – the all-terrain Terratoura – is already on sale and making waves in the off-road and 4×4 world. Next up for the British firm is a potentially bigger challenge – an advanced UHP model aiming for the top of the mid-range market.

Protoura Sport will be Davanti’s most cutting-edge tyre to date. Still under developmental testing, an initial prototype was unveiled at trade shows across the world this summer and initial feedback from the industry has been positive.

But Davanti General Manager Peter Cross knows all too well that success is dependent on how a tyre performs, not how many admiring looks it gets on a trade stand.

“We have been on an accelerated development path since 2015,” he said. “We have already proven our UHP credentials with the DX640, which has been the official tyre of the AIA Racing School at the Autodrómo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão since 2017.

“As a brand we now distribute Davanti in more than 60 countries and Terratoura has proved, if there were still any doubters, that our understanding of tyres is second to none.

“Whatever the application, our research and development team understands how to deliver tyres that excel using the most modern, efficient methods.

“But you are only as good as your last tyre. Our last tyre was outstanding, now we are focusing all our resources to ensure that Protoura Sport enjoys the same success.”

Protoura Sport will be an ultra-ultra high performance tyre and will sit alongside Davanti’s established tyre ranges.
