Protoura Race bolsters Davanti as a key market player in Ecuador
21st January 2026
Davanti’s Protoura Race tyres made their mark in Ecuador during the 10 Horas Ecuador (10 Hours of Ecuador) – a major annual endurance motor racing event.
Held at the Autódromo José Tobar in Yahuarcocha, Ibarra, Ecuador, the endurance race featured national and international drivers competing on Protoura Race tyres. Out of 78 teams, 58 were fitted with Protoura Race across 4 different categories.
This is part of a 3-year deal with the National Automobile Federation, led by Davanti’s Ecuadorian customer Llantas 247. The agreement makes Protoura Race the official tyre for the National Championship – meaning drivers across all applicable categories will drive on Protoura Race tyres.
This has secured the supply of Protoura Race tyres and its subsequent brand exposure within the territory for at least the next three years.
All eyes on Davanti
During the 2025 race which took place in December, Davanti branding was prominent across the circuit, which was not only seen by track spectators, but a national TV audience as well as local digital channel broadcasts. The Llantas 247 team also organised a dedicated stand at the paddock entrance, and provided their own mobile workshop to the track, offering free mounting and balancing for all Davanti customers.
This professional trackside service made Davanti the primary hub for the competing teams all weekend. While assisting customers, the sales team were also reminding people that the level of durability seen in the Protoura Race tyres was a consistent design element across the full Davanti range, helping to instill trust in the brand as a whole and encourage drivers to consider the passenger car range for their everyday driving.
This was all backed by months of social media hype on the Llantas 247 channels in the lead up to the event.
Federico Diaz, Davanti international sales & marketing executive for Latin America, said:
“The high-frequency brand exposure that we received across national media helps us to build mass-market trust and accelerates our transition from a “new player” to a household name.
“The premium service at the track also helped to highlight our professional positioning in the market and increased our customer retention.”
Engineered to win
When it came to Protoura Race’s performance on the track, technical feedback was consistently positive, especially when it came to efficiency and longevity. In a 10-hour race, teams would usually expect to use more than 5 sets of tyres. With Davanti, the average was only 3-4 sets, proving the product’s superior durability on what is known to be a very abrasive track.
Federico continued:
“When it comes to product performance, the efficiency of Protoura Race is our strongest sales argument. We offer “podium performance” with a significantly lower cost-per-kilometre than the competition. As a testament to the tyre’s quality, one team actually managed to finish the entire qualifying session and the full 10-hour race on one single set of tyres.
“Another success story saw a factory-spec racing Renault Clio running a set of premium tyres which failed during testing, so they made the switch to Davanti. This resulted in them coming first in the category and achieving the fastest lap of the race.”
The Davanti team, alongside Llantas 247, are now looking ahead to the rest of the championship, including the 12 Hours of Ecuador, where they hope to make an even greater impact on and off the track.
