Dan Zelos achieves best Porsche performance to date at Oulton Park

4th July 2025

A pacy performance at Oulton Park saw Dan Zelos land three top 6 finishes in rounds 7-9 of the Porsche Sprint Challenge.

Zelos fought hard for his position on more than one occasion across the weekend in his Envoy-branded Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. He entered a three-way battle with Ben Mulryan and Joe Marshall, while also navigating a slippery track on slicks as the rain began to fall. That didn’t stop him achieving fourth though, with a fastest lap time better than that of the race winner.

Starting 8th on the grid in race two, he climbed to 6th before engaging in another battle with Mulryan as Zelos attempted to overtake with the rest of the grid closing in. His persistence went in his favour, with Mulryan receiving a five-second penalty for track limit transgressions, bumping Zelos up to fifth.

The final race of the weekend saw Dan fight for fourth with Marshall in the early laps, but an early finish due to fading tyres landed him sixth place. Nevertheless it was another successful weekend for Dan, having more than doubled his season score.

Commenting on the race, he said: “Overall, I was mega happy with my performance and results at Oulton. We took a really positive step forward, especially in terms of my driving, which came a lot more naturally than before. It felt like the first weekend I’d properly got my teeth into the races, and reminded me of the close battles I’ve had in other championships in the past. I’m feeling increasingly like a bona fide rear wheel-drive racer – and there’s plenty more yet to come!”

Catch Dan at Knockhill on 16th and 17th August for the next round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge. You can follow his racing journey on our social channels.
